Conexión ofrece un lugar de encuentro y difusión para la comunicación desde perspectivas aplicadas, teóricas o empíricas, acerca de periodismo, publicidad, comunicación para el desarrollo, comunicación audiovisual, comunicación social, comunicación política, políticas de comunicación, nuevos medios, activismos, subjetividades, entre otros. El alcance de la revista apunta a recibir contribuciones que sean sobre o estén relacionadas a narrativas e investigaciones de y desde el Sur Global, específicamente el espacio iberoamericano. Los campos, temas y disciplinas de interés de Conexión son amplios y variados, y esa diversidad de miradas es la que garantiza la interdisciplinariedad de nuestras búsquedas, vincula la heterogeneidad de nuestros objetos de estudio y conecta de manera transversal nuestros hallazgos. En un inicio, Conexión se creó con la finalidad de ofrecer un espacio para la difusión de los trabajos de investigación elaborados por los docentes del Departamento Académico de Comunicaciones. Sin embargo, en los últimos años se ha convertido en una revista científica que ofrece a la comunidad internacional un espacio que dé cuenta de la vigencia y del diálogo científico actualizado con respecto a los temas de su interés.
