Intercultural Communication and Literature is an academic journal of the Intercultural Communication and Literature Research Center, which developed within „Dunărea de Jos” University of Galati, Faculty of Letters, based on the annual International Colloquium, a scientific event started in 2006. Ever since then, the published studies have to meet the Journal’s scientific standards, which initially had three issues per year, and a Supplement that includes the Proceedings of the International Conference Culture and Media in the European Area. These scientific standards are correlated with the need for an inter-university cultural dialogue in general, and a literal one, in particular, from the perspective of cultural interference and confluences. From this point of view, the Journal’s research directions and thematic areas have been centered on the relations between language community vs culture community, national literature vs regional literature, literature vs cultural studies and the dialogue between political, social and identitary ideas and literature. Adapting to the new literary and cultural ideas, the Journal Intercultural Communication and Literature proposes and supports, through the above mentioned scientific events, thematic axes on the following topics: culture and Romanian identity, cultural identity and multiculturalism in the XIXth and the XXIst century European space, exilic and diasporic studies, literature in totalitarian and post-totalitarian cultural areas, and the biographical genres: interdisciplinary approaches.
