La revista Ciencias Psicológicas se dirige a lectores de las distintas áreas de la psicología y ciencias afines desde una postura integradora y comprensiva y un riguroso abordaje científico y académico. Tiene como cometido la comunicación de trabajos de investigación en psicología y áreas relacionadas, incluidas las neurociencias. Es una publicación de carácter científico, indexada y arbitrada. La revista está indexada en Redalyc, Latindex y Biblat; distribuida en las bases de datos APA PsycInfo, Scopus, SciELO, BVS, Dialnet, EBSCO; registrada en Open Archives Initiative, Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), ROAD, LA Referencia, LatinREV, SILO y Timbó. Además, es miembro de la Asociación Uruguaya de Revistas Académicas (AURA) y se encuentra en la red social X. En la revista se publican trabajos de investigación originales de carácter empírico, revisiones sistemáticas o metaanálisis, estudios instrumentales o artículos sobre metodología. Excepcionalmente se publican comunicaciones breves que contribuyan a la discusión científica. En forma aperiódica se editan números monográficos centrados en un campo de acción específico de la psicología. Contiene artículos en español, portugués e inglés. A partir de 2024 se aceptan preprints. La publicación es coordinada por un editor científico y un Consejo Editorial asesorados y apoyados por el Comité Editorial. Cuenta con un Comité de Honor. Las contribuciones de los autores son gestionadas por el editor científico y las editoras técnicas bajo la asesoría de miembros del Consejo Editorial.
