Informações básicas Editada pela Associação Brasileira de Saúde Coletiva (Abrasco), a revista Ciência & Saúde Coletiva - criada ao final de 1996 – é um espaço científico para discussões, debates, apresentação de pesquisas, exposição de novas ideias e de controvérsias sobre a área. A partir de 2011, passou a ser mensal, publicando 12 números anuais. Em cada número há sempre de 10 a 12 textos temáticos e cerca de 20 outros sobre temas variados e opiniões, mais resenhas, num total de 30 artigos. Atualmente, a revista recebe uma média de 2.500 artigos originais por ano. Houve, no decorrer da história da Revista, um crescimento visível de participação de autores nacionais e internacionais e do número de artigos publicados. O site recebe diversas colaborações de pesquisadores de países de língua inglesa, francesa e espanhola. Desde sua origem, Ciência & Saúde Coletiva cumpre fielmente os requisitos de periodicidade e de normalização para publicação científica, seguindo as regras da Convenção de Vancouver, habitualmente utilizadas pelas áreas de medicina e saúde pública. Desde 2014, a versão impressa em português tornou-se disponível on-line, na base de dados SciELO, com diversos artigos traduzidos para o inglês. Atualmente Ciência & Saúde Coletiva está classificada com a categoria A1 no Qualis/Capes. Acesso Aberto Este periódico segue o modelo de Acesso Aberto (Open Acess), permitindo o acesso virtual, sem restrição (incluindo restrições financeiras), a todos os textos científicos publicados pelo periódico.
