Głównym celem czasopisma "Chrześcijaństwo-Świat-Polityka" jest prowadzenie i koordynacja badań z zakresu politologii religii i nauk społecznych Kościoła. Ponadto chcemy stworzyć i zintegrować międzynarodową społeczność naukową działającą w tych dziedzinach badawczych. Pomimo znaczenia tych obszarów badawczych, naukowcy są bowiem często izolowani w swoich macierzystych instytucjach, co utrudnia konstruowanie zespołów badawczych i wymianę pomysłów. "Chrześcijaństwo-Świat-Polityka" jest czasopismem międzynarodowym. Na swych łamach podejmuje różnorodne problemy z zakresu życia społeczno-politycznego, ujmując je w kontekście chrześcijańskiej tradycji intelektualnej. Czasopismo jest tematyczne – wszystkie artykuły w numerze poświęcone są jednemu, tytułowemu zagadnieniu. W związku z różnorodnością podejść i stanowisk do tytułowego zagadnienia przez autorów każdy numer stanowi swoisty zapis rzeczywistej debaty naukowej. W prowadzonej na łamach czasopisma debacie intelektualnej, szczególne miejsce przypada uznanym, wybitnym przedstawicielom świata nauki, których liczne kontrybucje stanowią szczególnie cenny aspekt każdego numeru.
