CHAKIÑAN, Revista de Ciencias Sociales y Humanidades surge como un espacio de debate, de periodicidad cuatrimestral, entre investigadores y científicos, arbitrada, de carácter internacional y dependiente de la Facultad de Ciencias de la Educación, Humanas y Tecnologías de la Universidad Nacional de Chimborazo (Riobamba, Ecuador). De acceso abierto, su temática abarca resultados de investigaciones originales relacionadas con las Ciencias Sociales y Humanidades, según los campos correspondientes de la UNESCO: Ciencias Sociales y del Comportamiento (ciencias políticas, sociología, antropología, etnografía, demografía, geografía, psicología, estudios sobre la paz, derechos humanos) y Humanidades (educación, artes, bellas artes, artes gráficas y audiovisuales, diseño, artesanía, lenguas vivas y muertas, estudios regionales, literatura, lingüística, historia, arqueología, filosofía). Su objetivo principal es servir a la comunidad nacional e internacional divulgando, sin fines de lucro, el resultado de investigaciones novedosas y de calidad, para lo cual se recurre a evaluadores externos a la entidad, que realizan el arbitraje de los artículos recibidos, en la modalidad de doble par ciego.
