La revista CEDAMAZ tiene como objetivo fomentar la comunicación científica y la colaboración entre personas y organizaciones involucradas en investigación y el desarrollo a nivel local, regional e internacional. Publica trabajos originales de temas académicos y de investigación científica de investigadoras e investigadores internos y externos de la Universidad Nacional de Loja. La revista fomenta la transferencia del conocimiento científico de manera gratuita tanto para las y los autores, como para las y los lectores, a través de la divulgación de resultados de trabajos científicos originales, en un amplio rango de disciplinas que incluyen las siguientes áreas de investigación: Ciencias forestales, biodiversidad y medio ambiente.
