Case reports, (ISSN 2462-8522) es una revista especializada adscrita a la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad Nacional de Colombia, cuyo objetivo es la divulgación del conocimiento a partir de reportes de caso, series de casos, revisión de literatura de reportes de caso centradas en aspectos específicos del caso (tratamiento, diagnóstico, intervenciones, etc.) y editoriales, en directa relación con el ejercicio profesional y enseñanza de las ciencias de la salud, sociales y humanas. Está dirigida especialmente a investigadores, profesionales, educadores y estudiantes de estos campos. La revista recibe reportes de caso que sean innovadores, originales y con aporte al progreso científico, incluyendo experiencias desarrolladas en espacios no convencionales de salud pública, como la salud comunitaria, trabajo humanitario, salud y conflicto/violencia, telemedicina, salud digital, entre otros. Siempre y cuando se exponga de manera clara los antecedentes clínicos, las intervenciones realizadas y los resultados obtenidos, integrados con aspectos económicos, sociales o políticos que influyan en el contexto de la salud. Se aceptan únicamente manuscritos originales e inéditos que no estén postulados simultáneamente a otra revista. Estos pueden ser sometidos por autores afiliados a cualquier institución a nivel nacional e internacional. La revista no cobra ningún valor por el envío o publicación de artículos, ya que es una publicación de acceso abierto y gratuito. El tiempo promedio de recepción, evaluación, gestión editorial y publicación es de 26 semanas. Una vez se realice el envío, la revista se reserva el derecho de hacer modificaciones de forma al texto original. Los lineamientos correspondientes se encuentran disponibles en las Directrices para autores/as Case reports se encuentra indexada en SciELO, LILACS, REDALYC, el Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) y REDIB (Red Iberoamericana de Innovación y Conocimiento Científico), además de estar incluida en el International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE). Desde enero de 2025, la revista adoptó un modelo de publicación continua, con un volumen anual compuesto por varios artículos publicados conforme estén listos, en reemplazo del modelo anterior de publicación semestral (dos números por año), con el fin de agilizar los tiempos de difusión y mejorar la disponibilidad de los contenidos.
