Canada and Beyond is a peer-reviewed open access journal published by Salamanca University Press (Ediciones Universidad de Salamanca) and housed in the English Department (Departamento de Filología Inglesa), Universidad de Salamanca. Founded in 2011, it remains the only European journal specializing exclusively in Canadian literary and cultural studies. The journal seeks to foster meaningful interventions in the ways the literatures and cultures of what is currently known as Canada are perceived, analyzed, and interpreted both within and beyond the country’s borders. In the spirit of its founding editors, the Spanish Canadianists Pilar Cuder-Domínguez and Belén Martín-Lucas, it promotes transnational and global perspectives across diverse genres and approaches to literary and cultural criticism, with particular attention to political, cultural, and environmental concerns. By encouraging innovative and interdisciplinary scholarship, Canada and Beyond aims to make a significant contribution to the humanities and to ongoing conversations in Canadian and global literary and cultural studies. The journal is published annually during the first half of each calendar year. The submission period runs from 1 January to 1 May. All manuscripts received within this period are peer-reviewed and, if accepted, are published in the following year's issue. ISSN online: 2254-1179 The journal was published by UHU until vol. 9, 2020. Canada and Beyond is indexed in CIRC, Dialnet, Diamond Discovery Hub (DDH), DOAJ, ERIHPlus, Miar, MLA - Modern Language Association Database, Latindex 2.0 and Sherpa Romeo.
