Caminhos da História é uma publicação do Programa de Pós-Graduação em História (PPGH) da Universidade Estadual de Montes Claros (Unimontes). Sua ênfase está na difusão do conhecimento na História, especialmente de pesquisas originais. Contudo, é aberta para contribuições de outras áreas do conhecimento, sempre que os artigos submetidos apresentarem vínculos explícitos com a História. É uma revista semestral, recebendo o envio de artigos em fluxo contínuo. As contribuições de pesquisadores(as) e professores(as) de outras instituições são bem-vindas; efetivamente, este intento tem sido alcançado com a publicação de artigos de diferentes regiões do país, inclusive do exterior.
