La Revista Cambios y Permanencias es una publicación científica semestral promovida por el Grupo de Investigación Historia, Archivística y Redes de Investigación, HARED, de la Universidad Industrial de Santander. Tiene como propósito divulgar trabajos de carácter multi e interdisciplinarios orientados a los estudios sociales. En este sentido, Cambios y Permanencias abre el espacio para los diálogos entre todas aquellas disciplinas que abordan, desde distintas miradas, la reflexión sobre lo social. Esta Revista se encuentra clasificada de acuerdo con la clasificación de la Organización para la Cooperación y el Desarrollo Económicos (OCDE) en la gran área de conocimiento de Ciencias Sociales, en su área de conocimiento se registra como Otras Ciencias Sociales y en la disciplina se inserta en Ciencias Sociales, Interdisciplinarias. La pretensión de la investigación exclusivamente disciplinar, tal como lo planteó el positivismo del siglo XIX, limitan los análisis y la esencia transformadora de los estudios sociales. Es por esto que Cambios y Permanencias parte del reconocimiento de la complejidad y del dinamismo de la sociedad, para proponer la interacción y los diálogos multi e interdisciplinarios que nos permita indagar la sociedad desde la pluralidad de dimensiones que la conforman. Cabe aclarar que el carácter multidisciplinario de la revista se relaciona con el acercamiento no-integrador de varios campos del saber en el que cada disciplina mantiene sus procedimientos, supuestos y marcos interpretativos bajo relaciones de colaboración con objetivos compartidos, es decir, el vínculo que se establece resulta mutuo y acumulativo mas no interactivo. Cada segmento especializado adoptando su perspectiva particular se desplaza hacia una propuesta común que implica intervenciones simultáneas, a diferencia de la interdisciplinariedad en donde si existe una clara conjunción de prácticas y lineamientos teóricos de las facetas del conocimiento que son objeto de encuentro. Respecto de lo multi, la relación interdisciplinar involucra una colaboración más estrecha entre conocedores y especialistas de áreas heterogéneas con el fin de resolver problemas conforme al principio de integralidad, diversas escuelas de pensamiento, modelos y posturas se dan cita en un mismo espacio para analizar cuestiones derivadas preocupaciones convergentes.
