Botany Letters is an international scientific journal, published by the French Botanical Society (Société botanique de France) in partnership with Taylor & Francis. Botany Letters replaces Acta Botanica Gallica, which was created in 1993, building on over a century of renowned publications by the Société botanique de France. Each year, the editorial board selects the best paper published in the journal's volume. The author of the winning paper is awarded the Jussieu Research Prize. Botany Letters welcomes all manuscripts related to botany. The journal's scope includes the following sections and covers land plants, algae, and fungi at all organizational levels. Botany Letters aims to facilitate the rapid dissemination of high-quality research to a broad audience interested in plant sciences. Sections: Systematics, taxonomy Molecular genetics Evolution Ecology Biogeography Biodiversity & conservation biology Physiology, anatomy and morphology Ethnobotany Palaeobotany & archaeobotany History of botany Curation Invasive Plants Article Types: Articles Book Reviews Letters We welcome descriptions of new species, provided they introduce multiple new taxa and are based on an integrative approach combining morphological and molecular data. Nomenclatural notes are also encouraged, provided they address at least 10 names or focus on a supraspecific taxon with a minimum of three species. Manuscripts must be written in clear English. If there is any uncertainty, we strongly recommend having the text proofread by a native English speaker. To support plant research and Botany Letters' contribution to the advancement of botany, the Société Botanique de France awards one or more research prizes annually, with a total value of 5,000 euros. These prizes are given to the best paper(s) published in the previous year and are intended to support the future research of the corresponding author(s). Monographs on invasive species at the European level are also welcome as part of a series launched in 2016. Please see further instructions here. If you are submitting a Monograph as part of the "Monographs on Invasive Plants in Europe" collection, please contact the editors for specific formatting guidance. Botany Letters also considers submissions of articles recommended by Peer Community In (PCI), such as PCI Ecology, PCI Evolutionary Biology, PCI Genomics, etc. The journal may use PCI reviews and recommendations as part of its own review process, where appropriate.
