BIOLOGÍA ACUÁTICA es una revista científica dedicada a difundir investigaciones relacionadas con la estructura y el funcionamiento de los ecosistemas acuáticos continentales, contribuyendo a la conservación de la integridad ecológica y el uso sustentable de los recursos hídricos. La revista publica artículos originales e inéditos, resultado de investigaciones científicas y revisiones que examinen exhaustivamente el estado actual del conocimiento en un área específica, así como puntos de vista innovadores sobre teorías y métodos en el ámbito científico. Abarca aspectos vinculados con la ecología de ambientes lóticos y lénticos, biogeoquímica, paleolimnología, sistemática, taxonomía, biogeografía, contaminación, incluyendo también los dedicados a la gestión y la conservación. BIOLOGÍA ACUÁTICA publica artículos de la comunidad científica nacional e internacional, es editada de forma semestral continua, de modalidad abierta y gratuita para autores y lectores.
