Basic & Clinical Pharmacology & Toxicology is an independent journal, publishing original scientific research in all fields of basic and clinical pharmacology and toxicology. This includes experimental preclinical and translational pharmacology and toxicology and molecular (-genetic), biochemical and cellular pharmacology and toxicology. It also includes all aspects of clinical pharmacology: pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, therapeutic drug monitoring, drug/drug interactions, pharmacogenetics/-genomics, pharmaco-epidemiology, pharmacovigilance, pharmaco-economics, clinical trials and studies of rational pharmacotherapy. To be able to link the chemical entity to a pharmacological or toxicological effect, we require that the chemical constitution and composition of chemical and pharmaceutical interventions are known. However, we also acknowledge that this may not always be possible, e.g. in explorative studies of natural products. We have therefore developed a particular guideline for publication of studies with natural products (open the guideline here) and set up a special collection for Herbal Medicines and Venoms (open the collection here) to which these studies can be submitted.
