ARENA Journal of Architectural Research (AJAR) is a online Open Access peer-reviewed journal for all kinds of design research and scholarly research within the architectural field, and has been set up by the ARENA network. The journal is freely available and published under a CC-BY licence. It welcomes the submission of essays by doctoral students and younger researchers as well as by established architects and academics. Content for the journal is organised under 4 sections: Design Technology Practice Humanities The journal operates a rolling process for uploading individual essays as they are approved, mixed with special themed collections by invited guest editors. All contributions to AJAR are fully peer-reviewed through the ‘double-blind’ refereeing system, with this applying equally to design research material. ARENA (Architectural Research European Network Association) is an open, inclusive and comprehensive network for architectural researchers across Europe. It offers a shared platform that aims to promote, support, develop and disseminate high-quality research in all fields of architecture in the widest sense.
