Archivum publica artículos científicos y reseñas sobre las lenguas y literaturas clásicas y modernas. Su orientación es académica y dirigida a un público especializado en investigación filológica. Publica trabajos preferentemente en lengua española. No obstante, en cada número se admitirán un cierto número de artículos escritos en otras lenguas modernas objeto de estudio en las titulaciones filológicas impartidas en la Facultad de Filosofía y Letras de la Universidad de Oviedo (inglés, francés, alemán, italiano, portugués y asturiano). Recomendaciones específicas a favor del uso del lenguaje inclusivo: Se recomienda a los autores consultar las siguientes recomendaciones para favorecer el uso del lenguaje inclusivo en los artículos científicos enviados a la revista: Guía práctica de lenguaje inclusivo y con perspectiva de género.
