Apidologie is a peer-reviewed journal devoted to the biology of insects belonging to the Anthophila clade, the term "biology" being used in the broader sense. The main topics include: behavior, ecology, pollination, genetics, physiology, toxicology and pathology. Systematic research concerning the Anthophila clade, as well as studies on the rearing, exploitation and practical use of bees and their products can also be submitted. However, studies have to make a clear contribution to the understanding of bee biology to be considered. In addition, preference will be given to studies that are hypothesis driven. Papers which are only of descriptive kind or of local interest are not accepted.
