Rocznik „Annales Missiologici Posnanienses” swą genezą sięga lat 20-tych ubiegłego wieku, kiedy to w poznańskim środowisku akademickim postanowiono w sposób bardziej systematyczny i pogłębiony przybliżyć czytelnikom tematykę misjologiczną. Czasopismo stanowi dziś przestrzeń dla refleksji naukowej nad zagadnieniem misji w świecie pluralizmu kulturowego i religijnego oraz nad samym faktem różnorodności wierzeń, tradycji oraz przekonań religijnych i sposobów ich wyrażania. Wydawcą rocznika jest Wydział Teologiczny Uniwersytetu im. Adama Mickiewicza w Poznaniu.
