Anales de Documentación publica un número al año (a finales de octubre) en acceso abierto sin APCs modalidad "diamante" (no cobra suscripción para la lectura ni aplica APCs por la publicación de los artículos). ni a lectores ni a autores) desde el año 1998. Anales de Documentaci´ón se publica en formato de "número abierto", se abre un nuevo número secuando se dispone de un mínimo de contribuciones debidamente revisadas y aprobadas. Es una revista editada por la Facultad de Comunicación y Documentación de la Universidad de Murcia y Editum (el servicio de publicaciones de esta universidad). Hasta el año 2010 mantuvo de forma simultánea la edición impresa y la digital (la que permanece en http://revistas.um.es/analesdoc). En su sitio web se pueden consultar todos los volúmenes publicados, así como las normas de publicación, suscripción y la composición de los consejos de redacción y científico. La revista publica trabajos originales, traducciones y reseñas de cualquiera de los distintos sectores y especialidades de la gestión de información, biblioteconomía, documentación y archivística. Entre los temas de interés encontramos archivos, estudios de usuarios, procesos técnicos, gestión de contenidos en la web, difusión de información en internet, análisis de la producción científica, aspectos profesionales, éticos y legales de la gestión de la información y documentación, historia del libro y de la imprenta, arquitectura de sistemas de información, ciencia abierta y ciencia ciudadana (entre otros muchos de los que conforman nuestra disciplina). La gestión de la revista se lleva a cabo mediante el sistema OJS v. 3.3 con el apoyo del Servicio de Publicaciones de la Universidad de Murcia. La revisión por pares se lleva a a cabo de forma anónima, garantizando así la imparcialidad en el proceso de selección y evaluación de los manuscritos recibidos. Los títulos, resúmenes y palabras clave de los artículos se publican también en inglés, con el objeto de facilitar su proyección internacional. Se aceptan artículos en español, inglés y portugués.
