Aims, scope and focus
AMS Review is published by Springer Nature. By OpenAlex counts of its recent articles, its largest topics are Consumer Behavior in Brand Consumption and Identification, Service and Product Innovation and Customer Service Quality and Loyalty, together about 38.6% of its articles. Its main subfields are Marketing. (generated from OpenAlex topic counts and CAS ranking data)
The AMS Review is positioned to be the premier journal in marketing that focuses exclusively on conceptual and theoretical contributions across all sub-disciplines of marketing. The overarching goal is for AMS Review to become the foundational, go-to resource for conceptual and theoretical insights needed for advancing marketing scholarship as well as conceptualizing and theorizing approaches. It publishes articles that advance the development of concepts, frameworks, and theories in and for marketing. The AMS Review is receptive to different philosophical perspectives and levels of analysis that range from micro to macro. We welcome marketing-focused manuscripts that integrate research and theory from marketing and related disciplines, such as management, sociology, economics, psychology, anthropology, or other social sciences. Examples of suitable manuscripts include those developing concepts, conceptual and organizing frameworks or models, those extending, comparing, or critically evaluating existing frameworks and theories, and those suggesting new or innovative concepts, frameworks, and theories. Comprehensive and integrative reviews of research advances in and for marketing are encouraged, as are paradigm-shifting manuscripts. Manuscripts that focus on purely descriptive literature reviews, proselytize research methods or techniques, or report empirical research findings will not be considered for publication. The AMS Review does not publish manuscripts focusing on practitioner advice or marketing education.
