Actualidad Jurídica Ambiental (www.actualidadjuridicaambiental.com) is a publication specialised in environmental law whose aim is to contribute to research, study, dissemination and the effective implementation of this area of law. It was launched in May 2008 within the Observatorio del Litoral Research Group at the University of A Coruña. Since April 2011, the Centro Internacional de Estudios de Derecho Ambiental (CIEDA-CIEMAT), part of the Centro de Investigaciones Energéticas, Medioambientales y Tecnológicas (CIEMAT), a public research organisation under the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities of Spain, has been responsible for the direction and management of the publication, ensuring continuity of its editorial line. AJA is published continuously online, with new content released from Monday to Friday, and publishes a monthly PDF compilation containing the publications released during the preceding month. The journal has also published an Annual Yearbook since 2011. The Articles section constitutes the journal’s principal scholarly research section. It publishes original and unpublished legal research addressing legislation, case law and other legal issues relating to environmental protection. Doctrinal articles are subject to external double-blind peer review, in accordance with the scientific and editorial standards established in the journal’s publication guidelines. The Comments section is a separate analytical section devoted primarily to the study of judgments, legislation, legislative reforms, administrative decisions and other developments in environmental law. Its purpose and evaluation procedure are distinct from those applicable to doctrinal articles. AJA also includes the sections Legislation in Focus, Case Law in Focus, Bibliographical References and Current Affairs, which provide systematic and up-to-date information on significant developments in environmental law at international, European, national and regional levels. The journal has a scientific and international vocation. It accepts external contributions and publishes research concerning Sp
