ACTIO Journal of Technology in Design, Film Arts, and Visual Communication es una revista semestral creada y publicada desde el año 2017 en la Universidad Nacional de Colombia. Participan la Sede Bogotá, a través de la Escuela de Diseño Gráfico, la Escuela de Diseño Industrial, la Escuela de Cine y Televisión, el Instituto de Investigaciones Tecnológicas (IIT) y el Instituto de Estudios en Comunicación y Cultura (IECO); la Sede Medellín, mediante la Facultad de Arquitectura, y la Sede Palmira, a través de la Facultad de Ingeniería y Administración. El objetivo principal de la revista es publicar artículos originales e inéditos que sean el resultado de la creación e investigación en los ámbitos temáticos de la tecnología en diseño, las artes fílmicas y la comunicación visual, con el propósito de enseñanza disciplinar y transdisciplinar de las áreas. La revista publica artículos en español, inglés, francés, italiano y portugués. ACTIO Journal of Technology in Design, Film Arts, and Visual Communication pretende ser una plataforma de enseñanza y comunicación para las comunidades del diseño (arquitectónico, gráfico, industrial, entre otros), las artes fílmicas y la comunicación visual nacionales e internacionales. A su vez, quiere ser un instrumento para catalizar el debate transdisciplinar mediante la difusión de trabajos de creación, investigación y de reflexión sobre temas relevantes para los ámbitos no solo latinoamericano y colombiano, sino del globo, entendiendo que la tecnología supera las fronteras continentales. La tecnología se concibe desde una visión amplia: como artefactos, como conocimiento, como imposición del mercado, de lo político, de la industria. Es una invitación a la reflexión desde el hacer, el saber y el poder. ACTIO espera contribuir así a la construcción de comunidades en las áreas de interés más informadas, críticas y activas. ACTIO Journal of Technology in Design, Film Arts, and Visual Communication está dirigida a estudiantes de pregrado y posgrado, profesores y profesionales nacionales e internacionales en el ámbito del diseño, las artes fílmicas y la comunicación visual, lo cual incluye las artes, las humanidades y las ingenierías en general, ya que la tecnología es algo que incluye aspectos técnicos y sociales en un tejido sin costuras.
