Acta Universitatis Lodziensis. Folia Geographica Physica jest czasopismem wydawanym przez Uniwersytet Łódzki od 1997 roku. Od 2013 r. czasopismo ukazuje się jako rocznik. Zakres tematyczny publikowanych prac dotyczy nauk o Ziemi i środowisku, a w szczególności obejmuje: geomorfologię, geoekologię, geologię i paleogeografię czwartorzędu, meteorologię i klimatologię, gleboznawstwo, hydrologię, archeologię, ochronę środowiska oraz zastosowania Geograficznych Systemów Informatycznych (GIS) w badaniach środowiska. Badane zjawiska i obiekty przyrodnicze przedstawiane są w różnych zakresach czasowych oraz przestrzennych – od globalnego po interesujące przykłady lokalne. Niekiedy uwzględniania jest problematyka geografii społeczno-ekonomicznej. Czasopismo dedykowane jest w szczególności młodym badaczom. Artykuły naukowe drukowane są w języku polskim ze streszczeniem angielskim lub w języku angielskim ze streszczeniem polskim. Głównym celem czasopisma jest publikacja recenzowanych artykułów naukowych, prezentujących wyniki oryginalnych badań o charakterze empirycznym, teoretycznym, metodycznym lub analitycznym. W uzasadnionych przypadkach ukazują się inne prace, m.in.: doniesienia (komunikaty) naukowe, cenne dane badawcze, materiały konferencyjne, recenzje, a także wspomnienia, biografie i sprawozdania z ważnych wydarzeń w świecie nauk o Ziemi i środowisku.
