Weather is a peer-reviewed journal publishing articles written for a broad audience, including those having a professional and a general interest in the weather, as well as those working in related fields such as climate science, oceanography, hydrometeorology and other related atmospheric and environmental sciences. Articles covering recent weather and climate events are particularly welcome. Weather has been published monthly since May 1946 and is a leading journal for all those motivated to learn more about weather and climate, as well its links with related fields. Submissions to Weather should be of excellent quality, engaging and highly illustrative on any topic in relation to the weather and climate. Weather has a broad audience ranging from scientists and practitioners in both academia and industry, to enthusiasts, students, and teachers. Authors must therefore consider the wide readership of Weather — while contributions covering a wide variety of topics are welcome, authors should ensure that the terminology and technical content of articles is clearly explained and can be understood by a non-specialist. Responsibility for the accuracy of submitted material rests with the author. Any potential conflict of interest must be declared upon first submission. Articles are published in Weather free of charge unless the author chooses to publish their article Open Access. OUT OF SCOPE: Material of a more specialised and technical nature may be more suitable for one of the other journals in the RMetS portfolio. Content unsuitable for a scientific journal may be more suitable for the RMetS MetMatters site. It is recommended that authors carefully look at the aims and scope of this journal to determine whether they match that of their own article. The Editors-in-Chief reserve the right to consider transferring any submission, without prejudice, to another home within the portfolio if they feel that the content is of an appropriate quality and the journal to be of a better fit.
