The mission of the journal is the publication and discussion of research results and best practices on a wide range of urgent issues of modern economic theory, practical economic policy and economic practice. The journal highlights problems of general concept and prospects of social and economic development of Russia, including the issues of micro - and macroeconomics, financial and commodity markets, employment, development of national economy branches, regional development and federalism, world economy and international economic relations. The journal provides a platform for the publication and scientific discussion of the results of fundamental and applied researches in the following areas (corresponding to the field of science according to the Nomenclature of specialties for which academic degrees are awarded: 5 - Social and human sciences; group of scientific specialties: 5.2 - Economics): Economic theory. Economic history. Regional economy. Managing the economic development. Finance. Accounting. World economy. The journal publishes scientific papers of high relevance and quality, based on an objective analysis and creative scientific interpretation of key economic problems. Besides, published materials contain provisions having a certain theoretical novelty and practical significance, and are based on modern methodological base with the use of adequate methods of scientific research. Thus, as the professional platform for publication of basic scientific results of researches, "Journal of Volgograd State University. Economics" contributes to the expansion and deepening of understanding of key issues in the field of Economics aimed at the development of Russian economic science, ensuring active support, broad dissemination and promotion of research results of high quality in professional circles and their application in modern economic practice.
