The Urban Review is a leading forum for research, reviews, and essays on education in urban and densely populated contexts. Founded to address concerns about so-called “inner city” educational dynamics, the journal has evolved to conceptualize the “urban” as a shifting set of social, spatial, and political conditions that shape education across cities, suburbs, and interconnected rural communities.While the journal maintains a primary focus on the United States and North America, it welcomes global and comparative perspectives on the social, cultural, economic, and policy forces that influence education.
