Focus and Scope Building on the University of Bologna's millennium-long tradition as Europe's mother of legal education, the University of Bologna Law Review (UBLR) is an internationally recognized diamond open access and student-run Journal that publishes innovative legal scholarship bridging European legal traditions with contemporary global challenges. Since its founding in 2016, UBLR has maintained the highest editorial standards through a double-blind peer review process conducted by national and international scholars. Our comprehensive editorial process ensures scholarly excellence while maintaining accessibility for the global legal community. Such rigorous selection process ensures that only cutting-edge scholarship that illuminates law's evolution in our interconnected world reaches publication. UBLR is a generalist law journal committed to advancing legal understanding through rigorous scholarship and international editorial standards and it fosters dialogue between Italian, European, and international legal thought, serving as an authoritative scholarly resource for practitioners, academics, students, policymakers, and legal professionals worldwide. All publications are exclusively in English. The University of Bologna Law Review is owned by the Department of Legal Studies of the University of Bologna (Italy) and published by Alma Diamond, Alma Mater Studiorum Università di Bologna. This Journal is currently included in the scientific journals' list (Area 12 / Legal Studies) by the Italian National Agency for the Evaluation of Universities and Research Institutes (ANVUR), and it is supported (Free Patronage) by the International Chamber of Commerce – Italy. 2. Editorial Process All Editorial steps are conducted by the Editorial Team in accordance with the Journal Quality Control and Publication Ethics Code. The Journal's peer review process is registered in the Platform for Responsible Editorial Policies (PREP). past versions (.pdf); current version: 5/2026 2.1. PRELIMINARY EDITORIAL ASSESSMENT All submitted manuscripts are first checked for anonymisation and reviewed by the Editorial Office for compliance with the Author Guidelines and the Ethics Code.
