Frequency: Annual ISSN: 0195-9468 E-ISSN: 2167-8529 Spenser Studies is published by the University of Chicago Press as a forum for scholarship on Renaissance and early modern literature with a particular emphasis on poetry. Originally started as a journal concerned with the work of Edmund Spenser, it has evolved over the last half century to foster broad scholarly engagement with the larger literary world inhabited by the poet. Spenser Studies accepts essays focused on Renaissance poetry in both English and other languages broadly construed; explorations of relationships between early modern English literature and that of subsequent periods and contexts; new editions of previously unedited texts of medium length (“Discoveries”); as well as short notes and observations (“Gleanings”).
