Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia (RUDN University), where students from 155 countries study, is an international center of learning Russian. Our university holds Russian language Olympiads for foreign students in Russia and students in foreign countries, prepares foreign teachers of the Russian language, organizes international students’ exchange and scientific traineeships, fulfills inter-University contracts. Learning and teaching Russian abroad is coordinated by the International Association of Teachers of the Russian language and literature. Many world universities opened Russian language departments. Russian language centers operate in Europe, the USA, Latin America, Asia, Africa. The scientific journal "Russian language studies" publishes materials on fundamental and applied scientific and methodical problems in philology - The study of the Russian language in Russia and in the world (linguistics, psycholinguistics, linguoculturology, text analysis, ethnolinguistics, methods and techniques of teaching, etc.). The journal publishes articles on the Russian language and methods of teaching in a different linguistic and cultural environment. The journal is primarily addressed to research scientists and graduate students, and may also be useful to teachers of the Russian language of higher and secondary schools. The editorial board of the journal includes leading experts in the Russian language from Russia and various countries of the world. Editors of the journal take care of the development of the scientific and methodological potential of the publication and its acquisition of international status. The aim of the journal is to create a scientific, research, educational and information space for presenting the achievements of scientists from various regions of the world in Russian language studies and methods of teaching Russian as a foreign language. The targets of the journal are: Delivering the achievements of Russian and foreign scientists in Russian language studies and methods of teaching Russian as a foreign language, publishing the results of scientific centers in developing and keeping the Russian language in the multipolar world;Characterizing scientific articles on Russian language functioning in Russia and abroad;Pointing out the essential problems in methods of teaching Russian as a foreign, non-native, and native language;Analyzing modern trends in Russian language teaching at school and university;Reflecting problems of learning a
