Its mission is to actively contribute to the improvement and development of research and teaching in Orthopaedics and Traumatology and related fields.The specialities covered are as follows: Arthroscopy and Sports Traumatology; ASAMI (external fixators); Tissue Bank; Spine; Metabolic Bone Disease; Pain; Infections; Knee; Hand; Shoulder and Elbow; Oncology; Paediatric Orthopaedics; Hip; Ankle and Foot; Trauma and Anaesthesiology.The journal has been active without interruption since 1965 and publishes bimonthly. Authors interested in submitting their material have the option of choosing from the following categories:Original Articles; Update Articles; Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis Articles; Systematic Review Protocol; Technical Note. The journal accepts articles both in Portuguese and English. RBO is aimed at orthopaedic doctors and health professionals dedicated to related activities, not only from the SBOT, but also from other societies and countries.Abstracting and indexing: MEDLINE/PubMed, Web of Science - Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI), Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), Scopus, Scimago, SciELO (Scientific Electronic Library Online), LILACS/BVS (Literatura Latino-Americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde, Index Medicus Latino Americano / Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde), and Portal de Periódicos Capes (Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior), EBSCO, ProQuest RBO requires that authors follow the ICMJE (International Committee of Medical Journal Editors) recommendations for the Conduct, Reporting, Editing, and Publication of Scholarly work in Medical Journals.
