Probiotics and Antimicrobial Proteins publishes reviews, original articles, short communications, and technical methodologies aimed at enhancing fundamental knowledge and exploring applications of probiotics, natural antimicrobial proteins, and their derivatives in biomedical, pharmaceutical, food and beverages, animal science and veterinary, and agronomy products. The journal encourages synthetic biology approaches, directed evolution research, and structural studies that functionally investigate properties of antimicrobial proteins and puts additional emphasis on probiotics addressing preclinical and clinical implications on human (animal) health as well as food (feed)-related applications. Authors are invited to submit manuscripts covering all aspects of probiotics and antimicrobial peptides, including their discovery, mechanisms of action, biophysical research, pharmacological testing for activity and toxicity profiles, and rational design of novel antimicrobial proteins and probiotics, including probiotic-derived products, with therapeutic, food (feed), or consumer (animal) health applications.
