Population and Development Review advances knowledge of the relationships between population and social, economic, and environmental change, and provides a forum for discussion of related public policy issues. The journal's interests span all geographies, include theoretical advances as well as empirical analyses and case studies, draw on a broad range of disciplinary approaches, and address both historical and contemporary challenges. Articles maintain a high level of readability and scholarship, focusing on ideas and insights rather than analytical technicalities. PDR papers are typically 8,000-10,000 words in the main text.
