Logopedics Phoniatrics Vocology is a well-established, energetic and enterprising Journal with a proud record of innovation and excellence over the past 30 years. It has been at the centre of interdisciplinary and international research endeavours in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences, including but not limited to biology, electronics and computer science, health sciences, linguistics, physics and psychology; with a broad range of aims that continues to drive the Journal’s agenda. Logopedics Phoniatrics Vocology contributes to “a productive movement away from earlier surface descriptions” in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences “towards a search for underlying systems disorders” (Tatham and Morton 2011: 245), using evidence-based knowledge. It is the only journal that has the word Vocology in its name and has served a community of scientists and practitioners, that study vocalisation (human and animal) and voice habilitation (Titze and Verdolini-Abbott 2012). Logopedics Phoniatrics Vocology is indexed by various services including Scopus and Journal Citation Reports. It was jointly launched in 1996 ( Logopedics Phoniatrics Vocology 21 , Issue 1) by the Scandinavian Council of Logopedics and Phoniatrics and the British Voice Association and currently covers a wide range of topics, including: Auditory perception, speech perception and hearing disorders Augmentative and alternative communication Bilingualism and multilingualism Children’s speech, language and communication disorders Cleft lip and palate Dementia Fluency disorders Neurogenic communication disorders Neurolinguistics Motor speech control and disorders Psycholinguistics Speech aerodynamics and breathing Speech and hearing acoustics Speech and language in healthy aging Swallowing and dysphagia Typical speech and language development Vocology, voice disorders and rehabilitation Voice and communication in transgender and gender-diverse people Publications may have the following forms: Case Report; Data Note; Research Letter; Comment; Method; Research Article; Review Article; Tutorial. Submitted papers will be evaluated by referees with relevant expertise. Logopedics Phoniatrics Vocology supports a new evidence base on the effectiveness and efficiency of different intervention approaches, anchored in the development of health assessment tools, to be used on a regular basis by health professionals and for clinical training of students.
