Journal of BioScience and Biotechnology is an open access interdisciplinary journal that publishes original articles and invited reviews in all biology fields. The journal originally entitled «Travaux Scientifiques Universite de Plovdiv – Biologie» was founded in 1963 and continued until 1994 when it was split into four parts: Trav. Sci. Univ. Plovdiv – Animalia, Trav. Sci. Univ. Plovdiv – Homo, Trav. Sci. Univ. Plovdiv – Microbiologia et Cytologia, and Trav. Sci. Univ. Plovdiv – Plantarum. From January 2012, the four multilanguage journal parts were merged and the journal name was changed to Journal of BioScience and Biotechnology, which is an entirely English-language journal focused on the interdisciplinary areas of biology. The following areas are covered in the Journal: Cellular and Molecular Biology Bioinformatics Biochemistry and Biotechnology Genetics Microbiology, Virology and Immunology Animal Sciences Plant Sciences Ecology and Ecotoxicology Biological Anthropology
