The Journal of Applied and Computational Mechanics (JACM) provides an international forum for the publication of original and high-quality research that advances the field of applied and computational mechanics. The journal is committed to disseminating innovative and impactful work involving mathematical modeling, numerical simulation, and computational techniques as applied to theoretical and practical problems in solid and fluid mechanics. Originally established with a broad scope in both theoretical and applied mechanics, JACM continues to welcome contributions in classical areas while actively expanding its focus to reflect recent advances and emerging interdisciplinary applications. These include biomechanics, electro-mechanics, smart and multifunctional materials, micro- and nano-mechanics, and the integration of computational mechanics with data-driven and AI-assisted methods. The journal encourages the submission of research articles, review papers, and technical briefs that provide new insights, developments, and applications in the following areas (but not limited to): Theoretical and experimental mechanics Computational methods in solid and fluid mechanics Dynamics and control of mechanical systems Applied mathematics in mechanics Nonlinear dynamics and chaos Boundary layer theory and stability Turbulence modeling and simulation Multiphase and multi-physics flows Heat and mass transfer Biomechanics and biomedical applications Micro- and nano-mechanics Advanced and multifunctional materials Structural and topology optimization Smart materials and intelligent systems Composite structures and material modeling Hydro-, aero-, and gas dynamics Fluid-structure interaction Uncertainty quantification and stochastic modeling Machine learning and data-driven approaches in mechanics High-performance computing and parallel algorithms in simulations Multiscale and multiphysics modeling Energy-related applications and sustainable systems in mechanics JACM seeks to bridge the gap between theory, computation, and real-world applications, promoting interdisciplinary research and collaboration across academia, industry, and research institutions. Papers that demonstrate clear engineering relevance and theoretical rigor are especially encouraged.
