JACI: Global is a peer-reviewed, open access, online publication of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (AAAAI), which started publishing in 2021. It joins the other members of the AAAAI family of journals - The Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (JACI) and JACI: In Practice, respectively two of the most highly-cited allergy and clinical immunology journals (2023 Journal Citation Reports, published by Clarivate Analytics).Mission The overall mission of JACI: Global is to provide authors with a fully Open Access journal for allergy/immunology-relevant work that includes global and regional perspectives, with no barrier to access for anyone with an internet connection.Scope As the AAAAI's Open Access journal, JACI: Global publishes reports describing original research - basic, translational and clinical - related to all aspects of allergy, immunology, and related fields. This very broad scope mirrors the scope of its two companion journals. In addition to translational content, JACI: Global publishes basic science, Phase I/II clinical trials, population studies, as well as regionally relevant research relating to allergy and immunology.JACI: Global provides a (high-)quality outlet for authors whose funders require them to publish in a Gold Open Access journal. One of the journal's hallmarks is its geographic diversity, with an emphasis on global and regional research and practice. This makes the journal particularly appealing to authors working in Research4Life countries, with waivers or deep discounts of accepted Article Processing Charges (APCs) automatically provided by our publisher, Elsevier. JACI: Global also provides an important service to the growing number of funders who have joined Plan S (the European cOAlition S initiative) that requires full Open Access of research funded by its members, including the Gates Foundation, the Wellcome Trust, UK Research and Innovation, and the World Health Organization (see https://www.coalition-s.org).Content All JACI: Global content is peer-reviewed. Content flows to JACI: Global from three primary sources:Authors may submit directly to JACI: Global.The Editors-in-Chief of JACI and JACI: In Practice may recommend that authors, whose papers are not suitable for acceptance in these journals, to consider submitting to JACI: Global which has a broader scope and includes developmental and early stage research, as well as informative case reports. This provides a valued service to authors which may expedite publication of their research.The Editors of JACI: Global may invite submissions of articles.In order to facilitate the transfer of papers which are of sound science but not accepted by JACI or JACI: In Practice, JACI: Global uses the same article types as JACI.NoticePractitioners and researchers must always rely on their own experience and knowledge in evaluating and using any information, methods, compounds or experiments described herein.
