The Journal of Agricultural Machinery considers and publishes original peer-reviewed research articles bilingually (Persian and English), from the results of experimental research, theoretical analysis, modelling (numerical and experimental) and intelligent operation of agricultural machinery, equipment (in-farm and off-farm) and technical systems across the entire agricultural and agri-food value chain; from primary production to postharvest, handling, processing, distribution, and consumption including: farm machinery, agri-food processing complex, and industries related to the processing of agricultural by-products, horticulture, animal husbandry, and fishery. Emphasis is placed on applied interdisciplinary articles that explore agricultural engineering systems incorporating emerging digital and sustainable technologies. Such innovations facilitate the transition towards smart, efficient, and resilient agri-food systems, while adequately addressing environmental considerations and promoting sustainable production practices. The journal particularly welcomes contributions in the following interconnected domains: 1. Agricultural and off-Road Machinery Design, development, testing, field performance evaluation, and optimisation of autonomous, electrified, and hybrid systems used in crop, horticultural, livestock, and aquaculture systems, under diverse field and environmental conditions; soil– and crop–machine interactions; terramechanics; precision machinery. 2. Controlled Environment and Protected Agricultural Systems The technical and engineering aspects of greenhouse technologies; plant factories; indoor farming; vertical farming; environmental control systems with emphasis on energy efficiency and system integration; closed-loop production systems (e.g., aquaculture); mushroom production. 3. Digital, Smart, and Precision Agriculture Internet of Things (IoT-enabled equipment), intelligent sensor fusion and agricultural robotics; unmanned aerial and ground vehicles (UAVs/UGVs); artificial intelligence (AI/ML), digital twins, and big data analytics; image and signal processing; decision support systems applied to agricultural production, processing, and supply chains. 4. Postharvest, Processing and Agri-food Engineering Postharvest technologies of agricultural and food products (e.g., handling, storage, drying, and cooling); preservation and non-thermal food processing; food quality, safety, and traceability; smart packaging; intelligent food supply chain
