Integrative Organismal Biology: A Journal of the Society for Integrative and Comparative Biology publishes original research, reviews, techniques, methods, best practices, brief communications, opinion pieces, letters and commentaries that span the disciplines of integrative and comparative biology. The journal particularly welcomes contributions that clearly and explicitly encompass concepts from more than one of the topics outlined below, which encompass the full scope of organismal biology including zoology and botany. Animal Behavior Comparative Biomechanics Comparative Endocrinology Comparative Physiology and Biochemistry Evolutionary Developmental Biology Ecoimmunology and Disease Ecology Ecology and Evolution Invertebrate Zoology, Neurobiology Neuroethology Sensory Biology Botany Phylogenetics and Comparative Biology Vertebrate Morphology The journal serves as a home for the field of integrative and comparative organismal biology, promoting the best features of the discipline and illustrating the novel advances that can arise from synthesis, setting the standards for progress in organismal biology. We embrace modern publishing and social media tools to increase access, visibility, and participation in the scientific endeavor. Integrative Organismal Biology is a fully open access journal, published on behalf of the Society for Integrative and Comparative Biology. The Editor-in-Chief is Ignacio Moore (Virginia Tech, USA). One of the largest and most prestigious professional associations of its kind, the Society for Integrative and Comparative Biology (SICB) seeks to integrate the many fields of specialization which occur in the broad field of biology. The SICB is organized around eleven divisions, each relevant to a major segment of biology. The Society is dedicated to promoting the pursuit and public dissemination of important information relating to biology. SICB takes pride in the fact that one of the Society's focal points is to support its student members, and that the organization is fundamentally committed to the advancement and development of the field of biology through its members.
