Indian Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery (IJTC) is dedicated to publishing emerging peer-reviewed research in the biomedical and life sciences as applicable to Cardiovascular and Thoracic medicine and surgery. We aim to provide a platform for disseminating cutting-edge research that advances medical knowledge and enhances clinical practice. The journal is the official publication of the Indian Association of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeons (IACTS), which currently has a membership of over 2,000. It was established in 1982 by Dr. Solomon Victor and was published biannually until 1996. In 2000, the editorial office moved to Delhi, and in 2001, the journal began publishing quarterly. Since 2018, it has been published bimonthly, with regular issues as well as additional supplements released on schedule. The journal receives manuscripts from both members and non-members of IACTS. Key Areas of Focus: Original Research: We prioritize the publication of original research articles, including systematic reviews and meta-analyses, that provide robust evidence in basic science, clinical medicine, and public health. All submissions undergo rigorous peer review to ensure scientific validity and relevance. Review Articles: We welcome comprehensive, scholarly review articles that synthesize current knowledge and highlight emerging trends in biomedical sciences. These articles offer valuable insights to researchers, clinicians, and policymakers. Clinical Case Reports: A significant component of our journal comprises well-documented clinical case reports. We publish cases that showcase rare medical conditions, novel diagnostic approaches, or innovative therapeutic interventions, contributing to the advancement of clinical practice. Protocols: Our journal encourages the publication of detailed protocols for new medical procedures, treatment methods, and research methodologies. We emphasize protocols with high potential for replication and standardization in clinical and research settings. Clinical and Surgical Procedures: We actively solicit and publish comprehensive descriptions of innovative clinical and surgical techniques. Our focus is on procedures that demonstrate potential for improving patient outcomes and advancing medical practice. Ethical, Social, and Philosophical Aspects of Medicine: The journal places significant emphasis on the ethical, social, and philosophical dimensions of healthcare. We publish analyses and discussions on critical topics
