GAYANA BOTANICA, dedicated to the French naturalist Claude Gay, is a journal for the publication of original research in all areas of the biology of plants and fungi. GAYANA BOTANICA is a scientific Open Access Journal published by Universidad de Concepción, and is the official organ of the Botanical Society of Chile. One volume appears annually, divided into two numbers. The journal welcomes work carried out by scientists of all nationalities, prepared according to the norms presented below. Manuscripts may be written in either English or Spanish. Systematic, taxonomic, cytological, and phytochemical studies should be backed up by material deposited in state herbariums or other institutions readily accessible to the scientific community. GAYANA BOTANICA also receives books for review, notices of scientific events, and obituaries, which are published free of charge after acceptance. The journal is accredited with the International Association for Plant Taxonomy for the purpose of new names of vascular plants and fungi. Copyright For all articles published in GAYANA BOTANICA, copyright is retained by the authors. The authors grant Gayana Botanica the permission to publish the article and identify itself as the original publisher. Open Access Policy GAYANA BOTANICA is an Open Access Journal which means that all content is freely available without charge to the personal user or his/her institution. Users and authors are allowed to read, download, save, distribute, print, or link to the full texts of the articles. The articles in GAYANA BOTANICA are published under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License, which permits any noncommercial use. That allows others to share the work and use them, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author, with proper recognition of the work's authorship and initial publication in this journal. Code of Ethics GAYANA BOTANICA evaluates manuscripts by peer review, and its editors are committed to an objective and fair evaluation of submitted manuscripts, manuscripts will be evaluated for their intellectual content without making distinctions (e.g., gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, etc.). All submitted manuscripts undergo a single-blind peer review process. Reviewers are aware of the identities of the authors, but authors do not know the reviewers' identities. The editorial team ensures a rigorous review to maintain the quality and integrity of the publication.
