European Radiology Experimental is dedicated to advancing medical imaging by showcasing multidisciplinary innovations. The journal focuses on cutting-edge research on the physical basis of imaging modalities, studies on phantoms and within the experimental preclinical setting, especially regarding novel techniques and innovative approaches that may influence clinical radiology in the near future. It is open to submissions of original articles, narrative and systematic reviews, and study design concepts. The journal welcomes submissions on: X-ray detector (e.g., photon-counting) technology and spectral imaging MR: low/ultrahigh magnetic field and novel pulse sequences for imaging and spectroscopy Hybrid/multimodal imaging AI-driven image reconstruction Protocol optimization for new technologies Phantom studies (physical and computational) Imaging biomarkers/AI models (e.g., radiomics/texture analysis for risk stratification, detection, and therapy monitoring) Animal imaging with clinical transferability In vivo cell tracking and molecular imaging Innovations in imaging-guided interventions European Radiology Experimental is owned by the European Society of Radiology (ESR) and welcomes submissions from all regions, aiming to publish articles that are globally relevant.
