European Journal of General Practice (EJGP) is a peer-reviewed international open access journal that publishes research in general practice / family medicine in Europe. European Journal of General Practice is the official journal of WONCA Europe, the European Society of General Practice/Family Medicine. The journal aims to provide new knowledge and insights that benefit patients, support medical decision-making, encourage interprofessional collaboration, and to play a leading role in research methodology, medical education, and the development of general practice / family medicine in Europe and beyond. Although the journal’s focus is on articles that provide or discuss new evidence underpinning the daily work of the practicing family physician and the primary care team, it welcomes contributions from other disciplines, including health sciences and social sciences. Areas covered include: Primary care epidemiology Prevention Diagnosis Pharmacotherapy Non-drug interventions Multi- and comorbidity Palliative care Shared decision making Inter-professional collaboration Quality and safety Training and teaching Quantitative and qualitative research methods European Journal of General Practice accepts research articles, review articles, and clinical case reports. European Journal of General Practice operates a double anonymized peer review policy. The journal respects regional differences in health care systems, cultural backgrounds, and stages of societal and economic development. It welcomes manuscripts from all parts of Europe. Manuscripts from other parts of the world will be assessed for their relevance for European primary care.
