Disasters is a major, peer-reviewed quarterly journal reporting on all aspects of disaster studies, policy and management. It provides an opportunity for academics, policy-makers and practitioners to publish the results of high-quality research and practice on disasters, crises and humanitarian response. Disasters: Is the leading journal in the field of disasters, protracted crises and complex emergencies Informs disaster prevention, mitigation and response policies and practice Adopts a worldwide geographical perspective Publishes academic papers, but welcomes field perspectives and case study approaches Promotes the interchange of ideas among academics, practitioners and policy-makers At Disasters we believe in the value of a rigorous, high-quality peer review process. Each paper under consideration is reviewed by 3 external reviewers, ensuring that the authors receive fair, thoughtful, and constructive feedback. Disasters is published for the ODI Global by Wiley. Founded in 1960, ODI Global is an independent think tank and a forum for discussion of global challenges and crises . ODI Global includes the Humanitarian Policy Group (HPG), one of the world’s largest teams of independent policy researchers dedicated to improving humanitarian policy and practice in response to conflict, instability and disasters, providing a critical link between academics, policy-makers and field practitioners.
