Who We Are Founded in 1924, the German Journal of Sports Medicine is one of Europe’s oldest journals in sports and exercise medicine. It is the official organ of the German Society of Sports Medicine and Prevention (DGSP) and offers free, open online access. The journal bridges research and clinical practice through a translational, transdisciplinary mission. Aims and Scope The German Journal of Sports Medicine publishes high-quality translational research, comprehensive reviews, and critical discussions that advance the field of sports and exercise medicine. Our core focus areas include:PreventionDiagnosisTherapyRehabilitationTraining and Exercise PhysiologySports CardiologySports OrthopedicsSports PsychologySports NutritionEnvironmental Conditions in SportsIn addition, we welcome contributions addressing the broader effects of physical activity and inactivity on health throughout life, as well as interdisciplinary topics involving social, cultural, and psychological aspects of sports science. The journal features original research, reviews, theoretical papers, and debates from diverse biomedical and clinical perspectives.

- The Deutsche Zeitschrift fuer Sportmedizin - German Journal of Sports Medicine has beenfounded in 1951 and is dedicated to the biomedical science and clinical practice of SportsMedicine and its border fields which investigate the influence of exercise, physical trainingand sports as well as lack of exercise to healthy and sick people of all age-groups, related toprevention, diagnosis, therapy, rehabilitation and physical training.Manuscripts which deal with actual scientific and medical findings, new hypotheses, actualcontroversies and problems in real life will be published. Possible Topics are physiologyand pathophysiology of exercise, medical and biological findings, the medical therapy ofexercise-related medical problems, epidemiology of sedentary lifestyle and relateddisorders, therapy of sports injuries - especially the conservative postoperative treatmentof injuries -, medical training and rehabilitation medicine, as well as special social,cultural, psychological and special science-related aspects of the entire scientific field.
