Current Opinion in Solid State & Materials Science provides a snapshot of the latest advancements and ground-breaking discoveries in materials science. The journal aims to publish timely, critical reviews that are of broad interest and cover the most exciting developments, challenges, and future directions in the field. The editors welcome in-depth reviews from international researchers who are experts and leaders in materials-related fields. Reviews that focus on recent developments and include a significant analysis section are of particular interest. The journal prioritizes shorter reviews that provide a critical assessment of the field, but longer reviews for emerging subfields can also be considered. Recognizing the multidisciplinary nature and the rapid evolution of materials research, we encourage reviews on a wide range of topics that span both traditional and emerging areas at the intersection of materials science and other disciplines. Manuscripts can be submitted without prior approval from the editors. All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial review by the editors to ensure compliance with journal’s aims and scope and to assess their potential interest to the broad readership of the journal before being sent for in-depth review. Special issues and article collections are organized by guest editors. Proposals and ideas for special issues can be submitted by directly emailing one of the editors of the journal.
