The journal “Skhid” is a platform for discussions on social transformations as a process of structural changes in the state of society and a platform for developing optimal ways of their practical implementation. in particular: changes in established traditions; civilizational and cultural overcoming of the negative social consequences of the past; acceleration of qualitative changes and introduction of innovative experience; transition to a higher technological system; minimization of the negative impacts of the post-information society. The mission of the journal is to catalyze a scientific discussion on the social transformations of the past and present and trends in their future development; to create a new level of knowledge to enable social transformations of the existing world order, to model promising directions for the development of socio-humanitarian sciences in the future. The journal is aimed at the academic and expert-analytical community, and articles that are the result of theoretical or empirical research are published in the journal. All articles are subject to the peer-review process. Thematic areas: preconditions, causes and consequences of social transformations; historical and civilizational-cultural experience of social transformations; main stages of social development; processes of modernization and demodernization in the contemporary world; impact of the elite on the processes of social transformation; impact of social transformations on the processes of social identification; conceptualization of theoretical discourses in the countries of the “center”, “semiperiphery” and “periphery”; civilizational and cultural conflicts in the process of social development of “catch-up” societies; assurance of humanitarian security in the face of global challenges; theoretical approaches related to the emergence of the contemporary world-system / capitalist world-economy, rationalization of social processes; modernization, detraditionalization and decolonization in the contemporary world; collective and individual memory in the process of social transit: historical memory, polarization of traditional and modern identities in the contemporary world, mental transformations; social prognostics, strategies of social development, limits of social progress in the conditions of global changes; sacred, secular and post-secular societies; genesis of civil society institutions; sacred, secular and post-secular societies; methodological principles of rese
