BMC Cardiovascular Disorders is an open access, peer-reviewed journal that considers articles on the characterization, prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the heart and circulatory system. The journal welcomes clinical, basic and translational science studies that provide insights into the pathophysiology, molecular and cell biology, genetics, pharmacology, or epidemiology of cardiovascular diseases. Articles on surgical advancements and new technologies aiding in the diagnosis, monitoring and computational modelling of cardiovascular disorders are also considered. Topics covered include: Coronary Artery Disease Epidemiology & Digital Health Cardiovascular Risk & Primary Prevention Hypertension and Vascular Biology Cardiovascular Surgery Structural Heart Diseases, Heart Failure, and Congenital Heart Disorders Arrhythmias & Electrophysiology As a BMC Series journal, BMC Cardiovascular Disorders does not make editorial decisions based on the perceived interest or potential impact of a study. Manuscripts are considered for publication if they are scientifically valid. For research articles, this includes having a clearly defined and sound research question, appropriate methodology and analysis, and adherence to community-agreed standards relevant to the field.
