The Australian and New Zealand Journal of Art is published by the Art Association of Australia and New Zealand. AAANZ is Australia’s professional body for art and design historians, arts writers, artists, students of art history and theory, and museum professionals. The Journal is Australasia’s principal refereed art history journal. The editors seek research papers that engage with critical debates across art historical periods and in all fields of art theoretical enquiry. We are also keen to review monographs by Australian and New Zealand authors. Peer review policy The Editorial Board sends Research Article submissions it considers suitable to two referees in a double anonymised revi process. Publication depends upon the referees’ assessment, the availability of space in the Journal, and the author's willingness and ability to address the concerns (if any) raised by the editors and referees within specified deadlines. The Editorial Board reserves the right to decide whether or not to publish the paper. Other article types published in the journal are editorially assessed.
