The Asian Journal of Civil Engineering (AJCE) is a peer-reviewed international journal that takes an inclusive approach to publishing research across all major subfields of civil engineering – encompassing structural analysis and design, geotechnical earthquake engineering, transportation, hydraulic (water resources), construction materials, and construction management. The journal highlights emerging and interdisciplinary areas such as sustainable and resilient infrastructure, smart infrastructure, and digital construction (e.g., Building Information Modeling (BIM), IoT-based systems), artificial intelligence and machine learning applications, and climate change adaptation strategies for the built environment, geological hazards, urban resilience recovery, and extreme environment engineering. With a special focus on Asia and the Asia-Pacific, where rapid urbanization and infrastructure development are underway, AJCE particularly welcomes state-of-the-art studies that combine rigorous methodology with real-world application to address pressing regional and global challenges. The journal publishes original research articles, state-of-the-art review papers, and brief communications, spanning topics from resilient urban infrastructure and construction optimization to sustainable materials for extreme climates. Articles published in the AJCE reflect the evolving landscape of civil engineering research and serve as a globally relevant yet regionally grounded forum for innovation and excellence. Looking to the future, the journal also encourages submissions in innovative and cutting-edge disciplines, providing a forum for visionary research and foundational discussion on emerging frontiers, including extraterrestrial civil engineering - the study of infrastructure and construction technologies that may support human activity beyond Earth.
