Applied Catalysis O: Open publishes high quality research in all types of articles of all areas of catalysis. It combines rigorous peer review with rapid publication of research articles and concise reports on significant, novel, and timely research results. Insight into the important new forms of energy input such as electro- and photocatalysis and the associate material science aspects of preparing such catalysts are especially encouraged.The journal accepts original Research Papers, Reviews, Short Communications and other of general interest to the broader catalysis community. Applied Catalysis O: Open also publishes special issues on well-defined topics only by invitation. However, proposals from authors are welcomed anytime and enquiries regarding the submission of special issues should be directed at the Editors.Important Updates on Impact Factor and Indexing for Applied Catalysis O: Open (previously known as Catalysis Communications)With the transition from Catalysis Communications to Applied Catalysis O: Open, the journal has undergone several changes regarding indexing and citation metrics. Please note the following updates:2025: Catalysis Communications has retained its Impact Factor, receiving a 2024 Impact Factor of 4.0 (released in June 2025). Applied Catalysis O: Open is now included in the Journal Citation Reports (JCR) and has an Immediacy Index, which reflects the average number of citations in the JCR year to content published in the same year. Articles published under the new title are indexed in Web of Science.2026: A final Impact Factor will be awarded to Catalysis Communications and Applied Catalysis O: Open will receive a partial impact factor.2027 and beyond: Only Applied Catalysis O: Open will have a full Impact Factor.We invite you to submit your innovative research to Applied Catalysis O: Open and join a global community at the forefront of open access catalysis publishing.
